Pact SMS Consent Flow Documentation

This page documents how Pact captures explicit, opt-in consent from a user before sending any SMS or placing any voice communication. A signed-in user adds and verifies a mobile number from Settings → Phone number (app.pact.place/settings/phone) — consent is captured here, not at signup. The screenshots below are taken from that live flow. The consent checkbox is unchecked by default — a user must actively opt in, and consent to receive SMS is never a condition of using Pact. A verification code is sent by SMS and the number is only stored once the code is confirmed, proving the user controls the handset. The verbatim consent language used at each surface appears directly beneath its screenshot.

Full program details — message types, sample messages, frequency, and the complete STOP/HELP opt-out policy — are published in our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

OTP verification

Pact sends a one-time code by SMS. The number is only stored once the code is confirmed. After verification the user can remove the number at any time, which deletes the number and any derived voice data.

The consent capture depicted above is the live opt-in flow at app.pact.place/settings/phone. The consent checkbox is unchecked by default, SMS consent is never required to use Pact, and a number is only stored after the SMS verification code is confirmed.
