Quickstart
Get Pact running and send your first outbound sequence in under 15 minutes.
This guide walks you through the minimum steps to go from a fresh Pact account to a running sequence. It assumes you have credentials from your account administrator.
Before you begin
You’ll need a Pact account with the Member role or higher, and a CSV of contacts to import. No credit card or API key is required for the steps below.
Step 1 — Sign in
Navigate to https://app.pact.place/login and enter your email and password. If your organization uses SSO, click Sign in with SSO and enter your company domain.
After signing in you will land on the Dashboard. If you see an onboarding checklist, you can follow it or come back to it later — this guide covers the same steps.
Step 2 — Import your first contacts
Go to Accounts → Import in the left sidebar. Pact accepts CSV files with the following required columns:
| Column | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
email | Yes | Deduplicated on ingest |
name | Recommended | Full name or first + last |
company | No | Used to create/match account records |
Upload your CSV and map the columns on the next screen. Pact will:
- Deduplicate against existing contacts by email.
- Create account records if
companyis populated. - Set the default consent status based on your tenant's default consent policy (found in Settings → Privacy).
Consent on import
Importing un-opted-in contacts
If you are importing contacts who have not explicitly opted in to your communications, set their
consent status to pending and use a re-engagement sequence before sending marketing messages.
This keeps you GDPR-compliant and reduces bounce rates.
Step 3 — Create a sequence
Go to Sequences → New. Give the sequence a name (e.g., "Cold outreach — Q2") and pick Email as the channel, then add the steps:
- 1
Day 0 — Introduction
Introduction email. Use the AI draft button to generate a starting point.
- 2
Day 3 — Follow-up
Follow-up if no reply. - 3
Day 7 — Final touch
A final, brief nudge before the sequence ends.
Save the sequence and click Activate.
Step 4 — Enroll contacts
Go back to the contacts you imported and filter by Consent: Confirmed. Select them all and click Enroll → Sequence. Choose the sequence you just created.
Pact will send Step 1 immediately (or at the scheduled time if you set a send window).
Step 5 — Monitor delivery
Open the sequence and click the Analytics tab. You will see:
- Sent / Delivered / Opened / Replied counts updating in real time.
- Reply rate per step.
- Unsubscribe events automatically removing contacts from the sequence.
